Otter.ai transcribes and summarises meetings with an assistant that joins your calls. It is one of the best-known names in the category. VideoSuite is not an assistant joining another meeting: it is the room itself. Two different answers to the same problem, what happens to what was said.
What Otter.ai does well
- Veteran and well known: many guests already know what it is.
- AI chat over meetings and summaries, and an MCP server to connect other tools.
- An accessible entry paid plan, with a clearly lower annual price.
What to know about Otter.ai
- It works with a bot that joins the call. In August 2025 a class action was filed alleging it records conversations without everyone's consent; according to the press we cite, a judge let one theory proceed. It is an allegation, not a ruling, and we have not followed the case since.
- The API and webhooks are only in the Enterprise plan, according to its pricing page.
- Results live on its platform, without your brand or domain.
Published prices
- Pro: 16.99 USD a month billed monthly (8.33 USD a month billed annually, as listed on its page); Business: 30 USD a month (19.99 USD billed annually), per user. Prices published by Otter and read on 19 October 2026.
What changes with VideoSuite
- No bot: the room records, with a notice before entering and a real pause that captures nothing.
- Speaker by microphone track, not inferred from mixed audio.
- Your meetings, reports and tasks stay in your organisation, under your brand.
- API and MCP from the Professional plan, not only in the top one.
What VideoSuite does not do or is not
- It is a new product: a few weeks of real use, not years like most of the rivals.
- To get the benefit you meet in its room, or import the recording afterwards; it does not sit on top of Zoom, Meet or Teams.
- Each room admits at most 16 people: it is not a webinar product.
- The connected calendar is Google Calendar only, and charging for sessions through Stripe Connect works today in test mode only: it does not move real money yet.
- Your own brand and domain are set up with our help: today there is no self-service panel.

When to choose each one
Choose Otter if you want a well-known assistant on top of your current tools and your meetings do not involve clients who dislike bots.
Choose VideoSuite if your guests are clients or patients, you want visible consent before recording and the data in your own house.
